Custom banquette for comfort, storage, and style
Our kitchen is a decent size, but we had nowhere to sit together comfortably. This part of the room previously had an island that butted up against the wall and wasn’t being used as intended — in fact, it had become a bit of a dumping ground.
To solve this, we replaced it with a banquette bench. The bench features lift-up seating for hidden storage, along with a 750mm fully extending drawer. Constructed from birch plywood and complemented with painted finishes, white oak benchtops, and trim, it provides seating, storage, and a place to eat, craft, or do homework.
For now, we have an old table in place, but eventually, it will be replaced with a new white oak table, completing the space as a multifunctional kitchen hub.
