Banquette

Our kitchen is a decent size but we had nowhere to sit together. This part of the room previously had an island that butted up to the wall and wasn’t getting used as we intended. In fact it had become a bit of a dumping ground and we decided to replace it with a banquette bench that has seating that lifts up providing storage below as well as a 750mm fully extending drawer. The bench is made from birch plywood which was then painted along with white oak benchtops and trim. This has provided us with seating, storage and a place to eat as well as an area for crafting and homework.

For the time being, we have an old table here whilst other projects are taking up time. In time, a new table will be added with a white oak top.
