Church Pipe Display

Custom made item for a good friend using reclaimed oak. This unique piece was specifically requested by a long-time friend of mine, who salvaged the pipes from the organ in the church where he and his wife were married. As the organ was being decommissioned and ultimately replaced, these beautiful pipes were saved from being discarded or stored away, never to be seen again. My friend held onto them for a while, waiting for an idea of how to display them. After a few ‘very’ rough drawings exchanged over text WhatsApp, we came up with a plan. We came up with a simple design that would allow the pipes to serve as the primary focal point of the display. To make this one off item more personal, I engraved a photograph of the church onto the front of the display. The photos included below were taken the day I delivered, which was a surprise to his wife, who had no idea that he had arranged for me to make this for them.
